Rudolf Portillo began his career after graduating with merit awards from the New York Institute of Photography. He has since gone on to become an award-winning photographer.

Before joining the BruneiTimes as Chief Photographer, Rudolf worked as a news photographer for Borneo Bulletin. He is also a "stringer" for AP(Associated Press), AFP, Reuters, EPA and EyePress. His images have appeared in an array of Bruneian and international publications.
